Apps for pickup soccer in Milan and Rome, Italy

IN SHORT
In Italy, 5v5 soccer is called calcetto, and the go-to app is Fubles. It runs games in Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin and other cities. You join alone and pay only for the field. To book a field with friends, there are sites like Prenota Un Campo. Poteau has very few games in Italy for now, and we'd rather tell you right away.
You don't need a team
You need a team that's one player short. And someone is always missing: one gets hurt, one works late, one forgets.
In France, where Poteau has more games, half of player-run games are looking for just one or two people.
Fubles, the place to start
Fubles runs games at sports centers around the city. Show up alone or with a few friends, even for a single game. It's not a tournament.
You pay only the field price, same as playing with your own crew. After the game, you rate the other players.
Milan
On Fubles you'll find 5v5 and 7v7, at venues like Tennis Calcetto Barona or Polisportiva Cimiano. When we checked, listed games ran from €5 to €10 per player.
Rome
Rome has more formats: 5v5, 6v6 and 8v8. Games are played at venues like C.S. Stella Azzurra or Tennis Club Zamorani.
Bologna and Turin
Fubles is there too, along with Modena, Monza, Parma and Naples. Outside those cities, ask the sports center directly.
WhatsApp groups
They exist, and they're active. But they're closed: someone has to add you.
If you always play at the same venue, ask the front desk. Sometimes they know who's looking for players.
With friends: who pays for the field
Book it yourself and you pay for the whole field. Even if two people bail the night before.
To book online in Milan and its province, there's Prenota Un Campo, with new deals every day. Join a game instead and you pay for your spot, that's it.
The real question: what's the level?
This is where Poteau helps. It has a level quiz. Pick your position and answer a few questions about your game. You get your Poteau level, from 1 to 10 with one decimal.
Before the result, the quiz asks how you'd rate yourself. More than half of players sell themselves short.
Every player-run game shows its expected level. You know what you're walking into before you sign up.
What about Poteau games in Italy?
Almost none today. What you can do: in Availability, add the time slots when you can play, and your area. When a game fits, you get invited automatically.
You'll be among the first to know when a game pops up nearby. And being early matters: in France, a game with two players signed up gets played 8 times in 10.
