What padel really costs in Paris

IN SHORT

In Paris, a padel game at a club costs €14 to €25 per player for 90 minutes, split four ways. Weekday daytime is the low end. Evenings and weekends are the high end. The cheapest option is the city-run courts: €20 an hour, so €7.50 each for 90 minutes.

The listed price is usually for the court

Most Paris clubs list the price of the court, not the price per player. And padel is played with four.

At 4PADEL Paris 20, a court runs €60 to €112 depending on the time and length. Split by four, it looks a lot friendlier.

But whoever books pays up front. If a friend bails the night before, their share is still owed.

Timing is everything

At peak times, the same court costs 30 to 70% more depending on the club. Peak usually means evenings after work and weekends. Sometimes lunchtime too.

On Poteau, most padel games last 90 minutes. At Stadium Thiais, just south of Paris, a spot is €11 on weekday daytimes. At lunchtime and on weekends, it's €18.50.

Prices as shown on Poteau. Booking directly, a venue may charge differently.

The city courts

The City of Paris opened four courts at the Jules-Ladoumègue sports center, in the 19th. It lists them at €20 an hour.

You book them on Paris Tennis, the city's court booking site. One of the four players needs an account.

The courts are outdoors. Cheap, but the weather gets a vote. And slots go fast.

The extras

  • Racket: €3.90 to €4.50 to rent.

  • Balls: €7 to €8 a can. Split four ways, €2 each.

  • Shoes: indoor court shoes are fine to start. No cleats.

For a first game with no gear, add about €6 to your spot.

Join a game instead of booking one

The real cost of padel is finding three people free at the same time.

Joining a game fixes that. You pay for your spot, not the court. On Poteau, most player-run padel games are looking for just 1 or 2 people.

Every game shows the price per player. Player-run games also show the expected level. Padel is still small on Poteau, mostly around Paris. But when a spot opens up, you see it.

What it adds up to

One evening game a week at €20: about €80 a month. Daytime, about €60.

Renting a racket every time adds €16 a month.
